Stories from Viterbo ( a series)

I am in a plane to sweet Italy, dreaming about all the clichés : flowers, pizza and a fantastic coffee. The people from the check-in gave me a hard time but now, looking over the puffy clouds, is all forgotten and forgiven: even though i am broke. The sky looks peaceful, like a bathtub with a lot of foam in it. At any given moment, i am expecting to see little plastic ducks floating around. Ha...just imagine that: plastic ducks in the sky, entertaining bored passengers. I don't get bored plane passengers: how can you be bored with that view and with the very idea of flying. Somehow, we have the ability of flying and there you are, sleeping and maybe snoring? How dare you? ( the tone here is amazed/shocked, not judgmental). How dare you, sir in the third row?

As i was saying, the sky is fantastic. Sometimes i wish i was a bird: not a duck though. They don't fly the way i want. I would like something with a nice and heroic ring to it: like an eagle maybe; the kind of bird National Geographic would write about.

Back to me talking about this trip: i am going to volunteer in a project in Viterbo. Beautiful city of Viterbo. I will make updates about the city when is due. For now, i am up in the sky and for once, the clouds are looking up at me, not the other way around: i feel superior already.

But... we are starting to get closer to Rome. The plane is slowly going lower, closer to Vatican and its Saints, closer to a hot plate of Carbonara pasta, closer to people speaking a wonderful language with a lot of hand gestures involved. I guess Italian people are the only ones that could say: "Man, i'm tired of speaking!". Get it? 'Cause of the...okay. Dad joke intended. Please laugh at this.

The plane is making turns and i can see the mountains better. They just announced we will start landing. And i see it!! The city of Rome! I can see Rome! I only read about it! Do people understand what a big deal is to see Rome?

Oh, i am dizzy from the turns.
