For i am human

I stood there and I said: “I am human. Hug me.”

“There”, because the place is a metaphore, and “human”, because this is the definition of a problematic life.

In the past decade, I saw, we underestimated the meaning of a hug: we treated it superficially, because for us it was only about our skin touching another.

But as I was standing there, I gave myself up for strangers seeking understanding.

Oh, and you can tell so much without words!

By the strength of their hugs I could tell they desperately needed a glimpse of empathy.

The critic people might say that it’s just an other way to get attention. But I say: if this act makes two hearts to beat closer one to other, then give me the attention of the world!

For I am human and I’m weak, I cry, I barely stand, I barely smile, I barely pretend.

For I am human and I can’t do it by myself.

For I am human and I’m falling: so hold me in your arms for that one second that you wouldn’t use for anything anyway.
